Otokar Received the KSO Environment Award with its Environmentally Friendly Business Strategies

Otokar, one of Turkey's leading automotive industry companies, was deemed worthy of the Large-Scale Enterprise Category and the "Environment" award in the Automotive Sector at the KSO Şahabettin Bilgisu Environment Awards organized by Kocaeli Chamber of Industry.

Otokar, one of the Koç Group companies, was deemed worthy of another award for its business and sustainability efforts. The company, which carries out pioneering works by taking advantage of the driving force of technology and digitalization to improve the living standards of future generations with 100 percent of its own intellectual property, efficient, environmentally friendly and innovative products, won the Automotive in the Large-Scale Enterprise Category at the KSO Şahabettin Bilgisu Environment Awards organized by Kocaeli Chamber of Industry. It was deemed worthy of the Environment Award in its sector.

Otokar's Environmental Sustainability Steps Do Not Slow Down

Otokar, which has managed to be a pioneer in its sector with its work carried out in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and environmentally friendly practices in business and production strategies, has been entitled to be listed for the 6th time in the BIST Sustainability Index, which includes companies traded in Borsa Istanbul and whose corporate sustainability performances are at the highest level.

With its consistent efforts and implemented practices to increase its sustainability performance in 2020, Otokar recycled 150,500 m3 of wastewater and brought it back into production. With its energy efficiency efforts, the company achieved 1,526 GJ of energy savings and a 300 tons of CO2 reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

The ceremony, which was held for the 27th time this year with the theme of "Clean Environment, Strong Industry", was attended by Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Tahir Büyükakın, Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, President of Kocaeli Chamber of Industry, Deputy Governor Dursun Balaban, President of Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce Necmi. It took place with intense participation from the cloud and business world. Otokar's award was received by Otokar Production and Supply Group Director Mesut Akdağ from TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
