Otokar, which has contributed to the development of the Turkish industry since its establishment, implemented many investments in different fields and is a pioneer of firsts, announced that it is Turkey's most preferred bus brand for the 14th time in a row in 2022 and its innovations for 2023.

Stating that Otokar, which continues to invest in the future, achieved a significant success despite the uncertainties and economic fluctuations experienced in 2022 and continues to expand and strengthen its effective dealer network throughout Turkey, Otokar Commercial Vehicles Deputy General Manager Kerem Erman said, "Our bus sales in the domestic market in 2022 , increased by approximately 16 percent compared to the previous year. We continued our steady rise in urban transportation with the 100 metrobuses we delivered to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Our success story in metrobus was featured in the world media. We were among the priority choices in public transportation of many cities from Balıkesir to Izmir. Sultan small buses continued to be the leader of tourism and shuttle transportation; Otokar increased its domestic sales in this class alone by 45 percent. Our Centro microbuses, which we added to our product family in 2022, quickly became the favorite of short-distance public transportation. These achievements took Otokar to the 14th year. once again became Turkey's most preferred bus brand. We have once again become the primary choice of the industry with our wide product range, after-sales services, high second-hand value of our vehicles and trust in our brand. 1 out of every 3 buses sold carried the Otokar brand. Electric Buses in Europe

Stating that Otokar, which has made a difference in public transportation in more than 50 countries as well as Turkey, and its new electric buses, e-CENTRO and e-KENT Articulated, which it put on sale in the second quarter of the year, were greatly appreciated both in our country and all over Europe. Kerem Erman, Deputy General Manager of Commercial Vehicles, said: "Our new electric vehicle family, which promises a cleaner environment and quieter traffic, was greatly appreciated by industry representatives and users. The vehicles were introduced in Turkey and in different countries in Europe such as France, Poland, Italy and Germany." “As a result of all these efforts, we have received orders for new electric vehicles from Italy, Spain, Romania and Serbia.”

Another success achieved by Otokar in 2022 was the awards it won. Territo bus was awarded the "Excellent Product Design" award in passenger transportation vehicles at the "German Design Awards", one of the most prestigious awards in Europe. In addition, Otokar became the winner of the "Mobility" category at the BIG SEE Awards with its two different models of Kent buses.

Sharing information about Otokar's export activities, Kerem Erman said, “The number of our vehicles bearing the Otokar logo in the world's metropolises continued to increase in 2022. Otokar increased its bus exports by 125 percent in terms of quantity compared to the previous year and exported nearly 1,300 buses in 2022, especially to the European market. We received important large-scale orders from the Usti region of the Czech Republic and from Italy. In addition to Europe, high numbers of buses were exported to different markets such as Azerbaijan, Georgia, Tunisia and Israel. We delivered our 400th vehicle to Tunisia. Different geographies are our most strategic route to growth. "We will continue our promotional activities to continue our growth in Europe, which is our target market," he said.
